Indian Americans of Lexington to celebrate Diwali
Indian Americans of Lexington (IAL) is celebrating its 2017 Diwali Mela on October 21st at Lexington High School. Diwali (also 'Deepavali') — the festival of lights — is one of the biggest festivals in India and is truly pan-Indian. Indian Americans of Lexington has been conducting the Diwali Fest since 1995. IAL Diwali celebration has been one of the most popular events in the Lexington community and around, drawing over 500 attendees with the past few years being sold out.
This year, to enhance the festivities and add additional attendees we have increased our capacity and now expect around 800 strong for IAL Diwali Mela. The Diwali Mela includes a variety of cultural programs by kids and adults, activities for kids and mouthwatering Indian street food.
