Dr. Venkat Srinivasan Named Vice Chair Of AIF Board Of Directors

The American India Foundation (AIF)  announced the appointment of Dr. Venkat Srinivasan as Vice Chair of its Board of Directors. Dr. Srinivasan is Chairman and CEO of RAGE Frameworks, which he also founded. Venkat has also incubated several ventures in addition to Rage including BrightLeaf, EnglishHelper, Teranode, and Corporate Fundamentals. Previously, Venkat was the founding CEO of eCredit.com. Prior to founding eCredit.com in 1992, Venkat served as an Associate Professor at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Business in Boston, MA.

Having started his professional career as a public accountant, he completed his doctoral work related to implications of knowledge-based technology for credit and working capital, and is an expert in knowledge-based systems architectures, computational linguistics and natural language processing. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications and 2 edited volumes to his credit. His research has appeared in a number of prestigious academic and practitioner journals including the Journal of Finance, Management Science, Financial Management, European Journal of Operations Research, and others as well as business and news publications such as The Wall Street Journal. Venkat holds several patents related to flexible technology architectures. He is the author of a forthcoming book later in 2014 titled, The Intelligent Enterprise in the Era of BigData, to be published by Wiley.

Venkat and his wife, Pratima, are stalwarts in the community. In addition to being a long time supporter, Trustee, then Board member of AIF, he is also a Trustee of BUILD, a non-profit organization focusing on entrepreneurship to propel low-income students through high school to college success in the U.S. He is also a Trustee and former Board member of the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, a former Board member of TiE Boston [The Indus Entrepreneur] and MITHAS, MIT’s Heritage of the Arts of South Asia. He and Pratima have been integral to growing the AIF Boston chapter to its current stature as a leading model for the whole AIF organization.

Venkat joins current Vice Chair Pradeep Kashyap and Chair Lata Krishnan on the AIF Board leadership, both co-founders of the organization in 2001.
