Every year Shri Dwarkamai Vidhyapeeth of North Billerica hosts Annual Bhajan Utsav in the week of Vasantha Navaratri to welcome the beginning of spring or Hindu new year. This event is a series of Bhajan Mala performed by different devotional groups/classical music teachers leading to formation of all day Bhajan Utsav. This year’s event was conducted on April 5th from 2pm to 8:30pm with enthusiastic participation of local groups/teachers like Chinmaya Swaranjali, Bhajan Tarangini, Smt. Preeti Chakravarty, Smt. Vaishnavi Kondapalli and Dwarkamai Bhajan group.

Chinmaya Swaranjali, Bhajan Tarangini and  Dwarkamai Bhajan groups sang a wide variety of famous/rare devotional songs/shloka in different languages like Hindi, Sanskrit, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi invoking Lord Ganesh, Shiva, Vishnu, Devi, Rama, Hanuman, Shri Sai, Vitthala and many more bringing in a lot of positive energy throughout the day.

Smt. Preeti Chakravarty students performed traditional classical Hindustani compositions in Raga Bhairav, Bhoopali, and Bhairavi with great coordination followed by the soulful songs of their Guru Smt. Preeti Chakravarty involving everyone to participate. Smt. Vaishnavi Kondapalli and her students sang Hori and other classical based songs with great delight and melody. The event ended with the peaceful Sitar performance in Mishra Shivarangini by Koyal Ghoshal accompanied by Shri Rajesh Pai on tabla and Shiva Ramakrishnan on flute.

Dwarkamai ‘Thanks’ to all participants and volunteers to make the event successful and looks forward to continue organizing many more events in future with the blessing of Shri Sai.
