For The Love Of Mangos

Shefali Lohia (Writer/Producer) is 21-year old born and raised in Massachusetts and a recent graduate of New York University. She pursued an individualized concentration in English and Legal Studies at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study and has worked in editorial for various NYU literary journals, literary agencies, and publishing houses. One day, she wants to be a lawyer as well as a writer, and currently spends most of her time working on "For the Love of Mangos" and preparing for the LSATs.

 

Currently, she is the Writer/Producer for the short film “For the Love of Mangos.” The film’s team is in the middle of fundraising via Kickstarter, with only 13 days left for people to donate. Please click below for more details.

About the Film: Before leaving for graduate school, an Indian-American girl forces her old-fashioned dad to go on an unlikely date, and is in turn forced to go on a date of her own. The main character is a young woman named Rita Deo who goes through the unique experience of being a “first generation-American born” child.
