Mansee Sangani crowned Miss Jewel of India USA 2014

She is beauty and she is grace, she is the Miss Jewel of India 2014. Mansee Sangani, a 21-year-old Norwood, MA resident was crowned Miss India USA 2014 in a competition held at Caesars Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. This glamorous pageant took place on March 2nd, 2014 and drew an audience of 200 people. Mansee Sangani of Norwood is a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Boston in the school of management. She is also a full time laboratory technician at Foundation Medicine Inc.

In all, there were 24 contestants from all different states who competed for the Miss India crown. Jewel of India is an organization established in 1993. It is one of the most renowned and prestigious pageants in United States that annually selects representatives from all across USA to come together and compete. The director/CEO, Juhi Jagiasi is an entrepreneur, fashion designer as well as a physician who guides and motivates the title holders to take part in several events including top chart Fashion Shows, Interviews, Charitable Causes and more. According to a release from the organizers, there were two other titles at the pageant. Shruti Thakkar of crowned Miss India International and Priyanca Modi was crowned Miss Jewel of India. Mansee Sangani, crowned Miss Jewel of India USA will be representing Jewel of India at an international pageant soon to be held in India. Shruti Thakkar will go on to represent Jewel of India at Miss India International which takes places in Florida and lastly, Priyanca Modi will be representing Jewel of India in all their future fashion shows and events.

This annual pageant is one in which girls from all across the country congregate and compete for the title of the most beautiful Indian girl. Mansee Sangani, Miss Jewel of India USA 2014, was previously crowned as Miss India New England 2012-13. In a recently held interview when asked what the Miss India USA title means to you, she said "This title holds a lot of value for me and it always will. Majority of people tend to correlate the term 'Beauty Pageant" with being extremely good looking/attractive. I believe that there is a lot more to it than just being glammed up and looking good. As Indian women we are spiritually nourished and fortified by a culture that goes far beyond recorded history. We are physically resilient, mentally strong and spiritually fortified. And this pageant is really a test of that. To be kind, humble and gracious are all qualities that define a beautiful women and I feel honored and privileged to have this title".
