On December 8, 2013, Hindi Manch will present the very first ‘Hindi Manch Sahitya Sammlean’. This event is focused on showcasing Hindi Literature and aimed at bringing people together who are passionate about the Hindi Language. The event will showcase around 10 local poets presenting their own literary work, two short Hindi drama’s and some musical pieces based on poetry.

For the last three years Hindi Manch has produced and presented popular events like Hindi Manch SaReGaMaPa, Ek haseen sham hasne hasane ke naam, various Hindi Plays, Baal-Yuva Manch etc. The aim of these events has been to preserve, promote and grow the use of Hindi Language, using various entertaining media. The Sahitya Sammelan is the first of its kind event in which Hindi Manch is expanding their repertoire and venturing into the field of serious literature.

Speaking more about the event, Preetesh Srivastava, President and founding Member of Hindi Manch said “From the inception of Hindi Manch it was our desire to present an event that was completely based on literature. We wanted to do an event that had poetry, articles and drama that would present the different “Ras” and more serious aspect of the Hindi Language. For the last three years we have had a lot of requests from people to present a literary convention. We have seen the interest in Hindi Literature consistently rise and decided that this was the right time to launch Sahitya Sammelan. It is our hope to make this an annual event and grow the love of Hindi Literature.”
