Devotee Pledges Half Million Matching Contribution For New Sai Temple Construction

New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar, celebrated the Sharad “Navaratri Parva” starting October 5th through 13th. Navraatri is a nine day festival, dedicated to the worship of the Hindu Deity Durga in the nine forms and concludes with the victory over evil on the 10th day which is referred as “Vijaya Dasami”.

The first day of the Navaratri started off with the Kalash Sthapana to maintain the auspiciousness and energy throughout the nine days followed by Navagraha pooja. Maata’s idol was also decked with beautiful garments and jewelry offered by the devotees all through the nine days.

On the day one of Navratri, Lalitha Sahasranama Deepa Pooja was performed under the guidance of Shri Srinivas Shastry ji, in the evening by 108 married women lighting 108 diya’s. All the ladies and other devotees participated and enjoyed the bliss, took the blessings of the goddess and immersed themselves playing Garba/Dandiya Raas with ultimate joy in the name of the goddesses in front of our Sadguru. This was conducted by a local professional DJ and went till midnight.

On Day two, Samuhika Devi Khadgamala pooja was procedurally performed under the guidance of a spiritually blessed person “Shri Challa Krishnamurthy Ji” where the significance of this pooja was very well explained.

Annapoorna Devi, Gayatri Devi,Mahishasura Mardini, Maha Lakshmi and  Sri Bala Tripura Sundari Devi  poojas were performed on individual days. Samuhika Akshara Abhyasam was performed on the auspicious day of Saraswathi Pooja where many kids participated and took the blessings of Goddess of Knowledge, evening was followed by a Melodious Musical Concert by Smt. Sita Peri (Veena) accompanied by Shri Sridhar Mysore(Mridangam) and Shri Pawan (Violin), Smt Sita played various tunes pertinent for Navratri.

Maata Ka Jagrata was  held on day 8, 11th October was most energetic; Usha Kamal Ji fascinated the devotees with her melodious tunes in the praises of Maata.  Durga Havan was performed on the Day 9 by the priest Shri. Vyakaranam Krishna Murty.

Day 10, On Sunday October 13th, Vijaya Dasami , which also happens to be Baba’s Punya Tithi/Mahasamadhi. Morning started with Kakad Aarti followed by Baba’s Abhishek. Many devotees had the blessing of performing Abhishekam for Baba with Milk and water followed by Bhandara. Temple was open all day and Bhajan team sang melodious Bhajans all day long.  In the evening all the devotees had the  privilege of participating in the Baba’s Palkhi Procession and Bhajans. Huge number of devotees participated in the celebrations. Bhandara/Prasadam was served to all.

With Baba's infinite blessings NESSP Temple has crossed $1 Million milestone towards fund for securing the land. To fully secure land and get all the required permits, Temple would need a total of 1.5 million dollars. On auspicious Dussera Oct 14th we have a donor who pledged half million dollars matching contribution for temple. So for every $ of your donation we get matching $ from this devotee which will help us to start the temple construction soon. We are confident that this critical milestone will be achieved by Dec 31st 2013. We are looking forward to your generous support.
