Poem: Healing

Prof. R. Subrahmonia Ayyar

Healing

Pains come in life, sorrows do follow,
Samaritans help erases them all.
Unbearable pains all have a remedy,
Compassion, care, friendship and good service.

Pregnancy pains cause the mother to scream
The new born child too cries in chorus
After a while the pains do vanish,
And both do smile like blossomed flowers.

The surgeon with knife cuts the infected part,
Drains the puss, blood  and then cauterizez,
The wound heals and the surgeon smiles,
And the healing touch makes the patient smile.

Terrorists burst bombs in a jiffy,
Some people die, many are wounded.
Samaritans rush with helping hands,
To give medical help with compassion and care.

The families of dead are consoled and soothed,
The wounded are treated with care utmost,
Day in and day out, with vigilance they serve,
To help them get.cured and return home.

Wounds may be healed and scars erase,
All pains gone and those to come,
All get burned like dirt in fire,
By well meaning people who always do care.

The plans of evil forces lurking in the dark,
Cause devastation ,death and distress for all,
Samaritan's vigil stands to guard,
Alla, Iswar and Jesus will bless.

Poverty and decease and pains so many,
Self created problems add on to the many,
Hate red of people causes bloodshed and death,
The love of good people will save us from all.

Life is not a tempest,
Nor is it a midsummer night's dream,
It is full of troubles and tribulations,
Overcome them with confidence and courage.
