MITRA Celebrates Annual Get Together

Press Release
02/27/2013

MITRA as the name reveals it’s all about friends.  Indian Friends who are colleagues from MA & NH with their families, meet once a year and celebrate their togetherness with lots and lots of Kids and Adults programs. This year MITRA families celebrated their 3rd year annual function on February 16th at Chelmsford Community Center at North Town Hall in a grand manner. Kids participated in all events which includes Vocal, Instrumental and Dance. This is a good way of bringing all their talents under one roof. Every year the enthusiasm is up in the air which is marked by their involvement in the costume, as well as the performance they render on the stage.

Kids are multi-talented; they are equally good in all kinds of extra-curricular activities in addition with their academics. To promote the Arts & Crafts, kids had their chance to submit their creativeness and were acknowledged on the day of the event. Program started with the Welcome Address by Sunil Nambiar. Kids just rocked on the stage one by one, and no one thought about a break in-between. Highlight of the program was the “Fashion Show”; each kid represented the State in India, they were dressed appropriately as per the State and performed the dance. These made everyone highly nostalgic about the culture and the "Unity in Diversity" we have and our thoughtfulness in following them overseas.

Guy’s team makes a difference in their performance every time and this time it was medley dance by “Mithra Boys”.  The dance was so good that they were asked "once more" and they joyfully did it. There was a contest on the photography as well. Enthusiastic photographers posted their creative clicks on Facebook and most liked ones and the most creative ones grabbed the prizes. Raffle tickets were given and 2 winners were selected.  The entire program was emceed by Sneha Sunil.

Event came to an end with the sweet note - vote of thanks from Beji Joseph. Phrasing Robert Frost lines “And miles to go before we sleep” - Let's pray God Almighty to give us all strength to make MITRA event all success in all coming years.
