Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA (“HSS”) is going to celebrate 2013 as 150^th birth year of Swami Vivekananda.  HSS is planning a nationwide observance of Swami ji’s birth anniversary to celebrate his vision of “Universal Peace through Dharma and Yoga.”

The launch ceremony of Swamiji's 150th birth anniversary will be held on Swamiji’s birthday, Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at more than 150 locations throughout the United States. The celebrations and activities commemorating Swamiji's birth anniversary will continue throughout the year 2013.

HSS already has formulated a 5-point action plan to spread Swamiji’s message of "Universal Peace through Dharma and Yoga."

·        National contest, "Dharma Bee" for children on the stories of Swami Vivekananda and Sri Krishna

·        Field trips, adventure activities, and sewa activities for youth

·        Nationwide mobile exhibition on Swami Vivekananda’s life and message

·        Lecture series on Hinduism in Universities during spring and fall semesters of 2013

·        Dharma & Yoga Fest to commemorate Swamiji’s Chicago Address – September 11, 2013
