One For India: Making EveryONE Count!

01/02/2013

Association for India’s Development (www.aidindia.org) AID is a non-profit volunteer, movement that initiates and supports efforts of just, sustainable and equitable development at the grassroots in India. In the words of Ravi Kuchimanchi, the founder of AID, “problems are interconnected, so must be the solutions”.  A life of self-reliance and dignity requires not just access to livelihood, good health or a good education, in isolation, but all of these together. That is why AID has worked for the past 21 years, on these issues, including agriculture, women’s empowerment, ecological -protection and social change.

At this time of the year when giving and sharing are in the air,  AID’s  online fund-raising campaign One for India (OFI)” invites you to become a a part of this change and make a difference in the lives of the millions who are touched by AID’s projects.

Your donation, small or large will go a long way, for instance:

1.    $50 supports 10 solar lamps in remote Adivasi villages.
2.    $60 supports a bicycle for one village health worker allowing her to get to an emergency that much sooner.
3.    $100 helps restore 8 hectares of forests through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, benefitting both the forest and the people who are employed in the process of restoration.
4.    $400 supports a sustainable organic farming program in a village, helping make farmers self-reliant.

AID’s mission is made possible by its volunteers and donors, like you. To meet this year’s goal of $250,000, we need your support. Help us by making a donation and by spreading the word. Invite your friends, family and colleagues to become partners with AID... be an agent for change, by becoming an advocate for the poor.

When you give to AID, you don’t just make a charitable donation, you become a partner in the process of making a difference in the life of innumerable people. You become an enabler of a new society based on the ideology of sustainable development. You can visit the ONEFORINDIA website (www.oneforindia.org) to find out more and make a donation.

No contribution is too small or too large--whether it is $0.25 or $100 a day--when we remember that more than 320 millions Indians are living with less than $0.50 (Rs. 26) a day!
