The Boston Globe Honors Leader Bank

Press Release
11/28/2012

As Leader Bank continues to celebrate its tenth anniversary throughout 2012, Leader Bank is extremely proud to announce that it has once again been named one of the Top 100 Places to Work in Massachusetts in the fifth annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe.  Leader Bank, the only community bank headquartered in Arlington, Massachusetts, had previously been recognized by the Boston Globe as one of the best places to work in the Commonwealth in 2009 and 2010.

“It is a great honor to be named to the Boston Globe’s ‘Top 100 Places to Work’ list,” stated Sushil K. Tuli, President and CEO of Leader Bank.  “Leader Bank takes great pride in ensuring that we have such an enthusiastic and dedicated group of employees, and this award reaffirms Leader Bank’s commitment to employee satisfaction.”   Among other comments, employees said that they wanted to stay at Leader Bank because they “feel like the company is growing and . . . dedicated to staying at the top of industry” and because the Bank is “very entrepreneurial and open-minded.”  Said one branch staff member, “[Leader Bank] has identified what consumers need and want and we deliver it every day, in person.”  “We are gratified that our employees believe and share in Leader Bank’s commitment to quality,” said Mr. Tuli.

Produced by the same team that compiles the 24-year-old Globe 100 report of the best-performing companies in Massachusetts, the Top Places to Work recognizes the most progressive companies in the state solely based on employee opinions about workplace practices in compensation, leadership, appreciation, career opportunities and management.  Private companies and nonprofits as well as publicly-held businesses were included in the analysis.

“When we launched in 2008 during the Great Recession, we wondered if employers would lose focus on keeping their employees happy,” Boston Globe Business Editor Shirley Leung said. “But businesses have continued to make strides in employee appreciation and opportunities.  With more than 300 companies surveyed this year, we saw our highest participation rate to date.”
