IAGB Celebrates Republic Day 2012

Despite heavy snow dedicated performers and audiences made the trek to Burlington High School to be part of IAGB's Republic Day Celebrations on January 21, 2012.  Nikita Rao, Jharna Madan, Saatvik Ahluwalia and Umesh Rao served as emcees.


The show opened with Strotanjali featuring verses from the Bhagavad-Gita.  The concept and interpretation was by Bijoy Misra and the music was by Pradeep Shukla.

 This was followed by a dance showcase including Devi Stuthi choreographed by Jeyanthi Ghatraju, Kisna Hai
 choreographed by Shivani Patel & Reena Patel, Voices of Courage through Traditions choreographed by
 Bina Morparia, Jigisha Pandhi and Kruti Thakkar, Mallari – Dashavatharam choreographed by students of Mangai Raghavan, Desi Beat choreographed by Darshana Jani, a Nritta piece in Odissi style, a Kannada Medley choreographed by Tina Gnaneshwar,  Anjaana & Anjaani choreographed by Vipra Bhasin,  Desi Boys and Girls Medley choreographed by Nikita Rao, Desi Fusion by choreographed by Tripti Kakkar and a Rajasthani mix 
choreographed by Irtika Kumari.



This was followed by a musical presentation by Aaroh. Dr. Megha Joshi and Preetesh Shrivastava served as Emcees for this segment.


We were back to another dance showcase consisting of Lyrical Odissi choreographed by Mouli Pal,  Bhumro choreographed by Surabhi Agnihotri, Goonje Shanai choreographed by Jasmine Shah, Fusion Dance choreographed by Saniya Shah, Gypsy Dance choreographed by Udaya Rani Umesh and Deepa Arun, Desi Ishq choreographed by Sharayu Mahale and Shachi Risbud, Ali Bai, Medley choreographed by Shaila Verma, Kathak  choreographed by Gretchen Hayden,  Parda Parda choreographed by Amulya Deepak and  Panghat choreographed by Jasmine Shah.


One World Cuisine, Association for India's Development, Asian Task Force against Domestic Violence, Chhandam Institute of Kathak Dance, Gayathri Srinivasan, Hema Collections, Indian Caring Circle , Khanak's, Om Fashion Gallery, Sanjay Thakkar - New York Life, Shagun , Sharda Ramlackhan  and Srishti Collections were sponsors.

The event was a lovely reprieve from the cold snowy weather outside.
