ForSE 2011 features a great line up of keynote speakers who will share their mantra of success and the challenges they faced along their entrepreneurial journey. Dr. Harish Hande, winner of Magsaysay Award in 2011 and Founder of Selco India will talk about his experiences of building his social venture which promotes sustainable technologies in rural India. Get inspired by stories of entrepreneurial success from Dr. Una Ryan, President and CEO, Diagnostics for ALL, a non-profit focused on low cost, easy to use diagnostics for the developing world. Hear Andrew Yang share his motivation behind founding Venture for America, which recruits the best and brightest college grads to work for two years at emerging start-ups and early-stage companies in lower-cost cities.

For the fifth consecutive year, the TiE Social Entrepreneurs Special Interest Group together with MIT's Sloan Business Club will be hosting ForSE 2011 - “Make it Happen; Idea to Social Enterprise” on Saturday, October 1 at MIT.

The conference features four tracks - Technology, Urban Mechanics, Global Health & “How To” promising engaging conversations with committed leaders delivering significant social impact. Panel sessions will cover topics like Social Media for Social Change, Urban Ventures, Sanitation and Health, Bridging the Health Care Divide, Incubating your Ideas and more. An Unconference session will be held after the panel sessions to continue the conversation with the panelists in an informal setting. Panelists include successful social entrepreneurs like Dave Perry,  Osmopure; Gaurav Tiwari, Synergy; Akhil Nigam, Masschallenge; Dan Yansen, ClickDiagnostic; Lawino Kagumba, Zana Africa; Sam White, Greentown Labs; Stas Gayshan, Space with a Soul; Nate Rothstein, Swellr; Jessie Banhazl, Green City Growers; Stephen Douglass, Young Impact; Gus Holcomb, Relayrides.com; Miguel Herrera, Accion and many more. This year, a Pitch contest where social entrepreneurs, can refine their pitch, test their ideas and wow a panel of seasoned judges is being held for the third time. Experienced non-profit and social investors will evaluate the pitches, and provide feedback and constructive advice. The top five entries will be selected and asked to present to the panel of judges at ForSE 2011 on Oct 1st at 3 pm. All other entries will be eligible for the Wild Card selection which will happen live during the Pitching SE session on the day of the conference. Two wild card entries selected will be asked to pitch which will be evaluated on the same criteria and eligible for the awards. Enter the Pitch Contest to win cash prizes $1000.
