Lokvani@10 Team Supports Ubuntu

When Anu Chitrapu, co-chair for the Lokvani@10 celebration team brought Ubuntu at Work to our attention we were very impressed with the tremendous done by this organization to help lift women out of poverty.

"Ubuntu at Work collaborates with women micro entrepreneurs living in poverty. We help them develop their existing micro enterprise or establishing a new sustainable one. Most of the women micro entrepreneurs we collaborate with have no craft or other marketable skills when they join the Ubuntu at Work community. With the help of field staff and volunteers around the world, we help the women gain new capabilities, collaboratively develop green products they can make at their homes or in a Ubuntu at Work Baobab Workspace located near them, and finally, we help them market these products around the world. In addition, we collaborate with our women micro entrepreneurs to develop their communities" says Vibha Pingle who is the founder of this wonderful organization.

As Lokvani looked to  purchase souvenirs to give  guests who attend the tenth anniversary celebrations, the team felt that this  organization would be the perfect partner to help create the souvenirs.  The women have begun to work on the bags that will contain a few artifacts.

"Each bag will have the Lokvani@10 logo along with a little information about the woman who made the bag" says Vibha Pingle.

It was wonderful to see the pictures of the women entrepreneurs who are creating the Lokvani@10 bags holding the bags. We have shared the pictures here. Guest attending  Lokvani@10  will know exactly who made their bags. The pictures here show the faces of the women who are working on Lokvani@10.

We at Lokvani are proud to support this great work. Ubuntu is looking for partnerships to sell a wide range of products.  If you need more information on this great organization please check out their website at http://ubuntuatwork.org.
