Karan Sarkar, a 12 year old student from Westford, MA,  scores a perfect 800 in the Math section and 700 in the verbal section of the SAT I exam..

Karan has been featured on Fox News, Westford Eagle newspaper and westfordpatch.com. He was invited by Johns Hopkins to join an exclusive program called SET (Study of Exceptional Talent). Johns Hopkins considers this an extremely rare achievement. He has also been invited by Johns Hopkins CTY for an award ceremony in Massachusetts and also for a Grand Ceremony in Baltimore. Both are conducted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program.

Karan is an avid reader and has written a number of essay and poems over the years; a number of which were published. He has done a number of independent research projects including one on alternative energy. This project was forwarded by the town manager to the town of Westford for review.

He has written on subjects that include 'The human Genome and Synthetic Biology". He is currently writing a paper on the social life of primates and draws parallels to human society.

Karan is also a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo. Karan also works with special needs children and teaches them to swim. He also maintains a website and a Math Blog. Most of his essays, poems and research are on the website www.karan.sarkarfamily.org.
