On April 10th, 2011, NSF MA conducted math, science and spelling bees at Tufts University. Over 175 kids participated in the contests. Dr. Priyamvada Natarajan, one of the world's leading scientist in the field of astrophysics and a Professor at the Departments of Astronomy and Physics at Yale University, presided over the awards ceremony. North South Foundation (NSF) is a volunteer driven non-profit organization established in 1989.
Its Mission is two-fold, a win-win situation:
* To develop human resources by giving scholarships ($250 per student per year) to brilliant but needy students in India to further their college education
* To promote excellence in human endeavor by organizing Educational Contests for the kids in USA
2011 marks the 10th anniversary that NSF Massachusetts started conducting educational bees. NSF conducts contests in Spelling, Vocabulary, Math, Science, Essay Writing, Public Speaking and Geography bees.
Below are the top three winners in Math, Science and Spelling. The last column shows the grades that the kids are in.
