Milan Luthria wants to make sure his The Dirty Picture lead actors Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi share a palpable on-screen chemistry.  He has invited the two to his Colaba home for a typically Parsi dinner. The Parsi connection? Milan's wife, Lianne.  The director feels a home-cooked meal will break the ice. "Vidya and Emraan have not been formally introduced beyond a cordial hello. However, both are keen to work with each other. I thought my home would be a comfortable place for them to meet.  Both know my wife well and so asked for Parsi food. My mother-in-law cooks superb Parsi food. She will make prawn patio, lamb chops and dal among other dishes. I plan to invite them home this weekend," says Milan.

Rohit Shetty is rushing through the Singham remake starring Ajay Devgan. Sources reveal that this hurry is to move on to his next two projects -- Bol Bachchan with Abhishek Bachchan and an untitled flick with Shah Rukh Khan. And this has irked Devgan.  The director and actor recently had a difference of opinion about the way the remake is being shot. A source informs, "Ajay feels that Rohit is in a tearing hurry to finish the film. Even though they have a comfortable work equation and are friends, this is their first big confrontation over a project." Both work differently on projects. "Rohit is very hands-on with his films. He likes going about work at a speed he's comfortable with. Ajay is laidback and relaxed and likes to take time with his scenes. AJ feels his buddy is only rushing through Singham so he can move on to his other films, " is the word.

Kiran Rao probably wants husband Aamir Khan to do a Salman in real life.  For AK's birthday, the star biwi surprised him with canvas boards, a studio easel, a set of 38 paintbrushes and watercolours. She hid her tohfa in the study, and even ensured that her staff had no inkling of it.  A source informs us how it went down. "Aamir was clueless about what Kiran had planned for him. Since he's begun shooting for Reema Kagti's film, it kept him busy.  Also, he'd given his staff leave on his birthday, so there were fewer people around than usual. When Kiran invited him to the study, he was surprised to see what she had got him. "  The actor has been planning to learn painting for a while. His first 'brush' with hues was during Taare Zameen Par.  He then dabbled with painting during the making of Dhobi Ghat. He now plans to take it up seriously.

Here is an utterly interesting bit of casting that bears an uncanny resemblance to Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey to begin with. Then the plot thickens. Arjun Rampal hungry for opportunities to play characters that take him away from the city sophisticate is all set to play a cop in a dusty backward town of Uttar Pradesh.  If that role sounds like Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg, the resemblance is purely coincidental. Arjun is taking no chances. He had the role turned inside-out so that it became an antithesis of Salman’s Chulbul.  For the rough-and-tough realistic cop’s role in a new film Arjun Rampal is taking time off. But hang on. He won’t just be learning to shoot straight. He will be learning the finer points and nuances of Hindustani classical music.

Bollywood couple Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey has been blessed with a son, says Rahul Bose. The child was born Tuesday.  Actor Rahul Bose announced it on his Twitter page saying: "Massive congratulations to Konkona and Ranvir! A boy it is. With those genes, the dynasty is secure."
