The festival will present a unique session on confluence of Tagore’s music with Indian Classical Music on April 2, 2011 at Regis College near Boston. Pandit Sandip Ghosh (vocalist and disciple of renowned maestro, Pt. Historic Sadak Yatra From Kolkota To Puri


The Sri Sri Jagannath Sadak Sagada Yatra is a unique journey on bullock cart to retrace the old Jagannath Sadak from Kolkata to Puri that was once a lifeline for pilgrims. This road, often referred as the Orissa Trunk Road was also taken by the marauding armies of the Mughals and Marathas. The Sadak Yatra will start from Kolkata on March 6, 2011 from the Jagannath temple at Khidderpore.

Lokvani Talks To Shuchita Rao


Shuchita Rao teaches Hindustani Music through her own school of music - RASA (Raaga Aesthetics, Sharing and Appreciation) Institute and through Learnquest Academy of Music in Waltham. A classical hindustani music performing artist she also writes articles on music for various publications. She and her students will be opening Spring Festival 2011 for MITHAS on Sunday, March 6 at Wong Auditorium at 4 pm with accompanists - Dr. George Ruckert on the harmonium and Amit Kavthekar on the tabla.
