Oh What a night!!

The New Year was ushered in with elegant style by the team from Boston Sound and Light Company and Gourmet India in the suburbs of Boston on New Year's weekend.. The gala event was put together by Jharna Madan from the Event Management arm of BSL with an elaborate gourmet spread, rollicking music, a quick dance workshop and even a fashion show all in one evening.

The event opened doors at 7PM on the 31st and the banquet hall of the UML Conference & Inn in Lowell, MA was quickly filled to capacity with a sell-out crowd of around 400. The event was sold out days before New Year’s Eve and more than 100 would-be partiers had to be turned away including at the door.

DJ Yogz, proprietor BSL, started the evening with well known Bollywood numbers like ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ & ‘Gal Meethi Meethi Bol’. Amulya Deepak     from Vividha School of Dance conducted a Salsa and Bollywood workshop to get people on their feet.

Appetizers like Tandoori Shrimp & Papari Chaat among others, whetted the appetite of the patrons and was followed by a sumptuous dinner comprising things like Mutton curry, Mughlai Murg, Khate Meetha Baigan and many other Indian delicacies. Multiple after-dinner Indian deserts and Masala Chai was also served. Says patron Preeti Munjal “Awesome party ... great job! Everything was just outstanding. All our friends were really praising everything - the food, fashion show, DJ, dance workshop, the complete package was just Wow! You truly rocked ... keep it going ... looking forward to many such parties together.”

Dinner was overlaid with the fashion show, showcasing exquisite Indian designer outfits from Rachna Dhir’s Moghul Splendor collection. Throughout the evening, the ultimate showman DJ Yogz had the crowd on their feet with a mixture great contemporary Indian music sprinkled in with  old favorites like ‘Apni to Jaise taise’ & ‘Bachna ai haseeno’. The hotel even had opened up a separate restaurant for kids with multiple TVs, various arts & crafts, games and other fun activities.

On the overall experience from this event, says Jaspreet Arora “… we have been to numerous Indian parties of my 19 years in states and this new years bash ROCKED, excellent decor, centre pieces, music, food and friends. Thanks a lot...hope you continue to launch more and more of these.”
