How did you bring the show to Boston?
We were looking to organize a musical event at the end of the year to spread the word in the community about our new temple and spiritual center and were discussing various possibilities when we heard about this show from another non-profit organization in Chicago that was doing a similar show there on Dec 10, 2010.

The show is quite unique because all the performers are blind? Who are these performers? Where do they come from and what is their background?

This group has done over 300 shows all over the world. The trio of Bipin Vartak, Mangala Sunny and Shravan Kumar  form  the  vocal  core  and they display a very versatile range of  singing styles.The moment the clear notes of  Mangala Sunny will peal through the speakers the audience will know that it will be  in for something truly special and spend the rest of the enjoyable evening in keen anticipation of the next number to follow.

Shravan Kumar is a duet team within himself. He displays an uncanny ability to imitate the female voice and apart from his remarkable range in both voices he could also hold high end notes for extended periods of time which will bring the house down.The suave, Bipin Vartak,nicknamed “Hrithik” by his colleagues can clone Mukesh to perfection

What are the highlights of this show? What can the audience expect to hear?
The highlight of the evening will be a remarkable fusion medley headed by flautist Kiran Vinkar and superbly  supported by tabla exponent Deepak Kamble during which they will combine to produce several exciting flashes  of  quicksilver finger work and dexterous percussion which will have the crowd on its feet at the conclusion.

To put it all together there will be narrator Kishor Gohil who will orchestrate the swings in the ambience  of the performance with his oratory and unending flow of shayari. With the judicious use of  sometimes touching  anecdotes and sometimes amusing stories, he will deftly channel his remarks in introducing the content of the song to follow. The most poignant moment in his performance will be his wrenching narration of  the heinous attack on Mumbai which will end in a medley of emotionally charged patriotic songs by the three vocalists. Kishor Gohil is also the head of the National Organization of Disabled Artists in India.

Director of the Christian Louboutin production Suyash Setpal, who will accompany the group, will also showcased his singing abilities, also in dual male and female voices. He was so touched to see the joy of the face of the musicians when they made their first foreign trip to Dubai, that he promised to take them round the world, a promise he has kept by bringing them here to the USA

What was the purpose of Dwarkamai to showcase these artists?
This musical concert is a quest for excellence by the performers who, despite their physical shortcomings, portray a true inspiration in life! Dwarkamai would like to honor the spirit with which these artists have found a unique niche for themselves through music. These artists have worked hard and are a positive influence to all of humanity and that is the spirit that Dwarkamai wants to applaud and appreciate.

Who are the people behind the scenes who have worked to bring this to Boston?
Shri Dwarkamai Vidyapeeth is working  in conjunction with local organizers Eshani Shah and Shashank Desai to bring this show to Boston area.
