BBC Holds 7th Annual Boston Bhangra Competition

Press Release
10/12/2010

Balle Balle Balle!  It’s that time of the year again, and Boston Bhangra, Inc is hosting their 7th annual Boston Bhangra Competition on Saturday, November 13th, 2010.  Their past 6 competitions have all sold out, and were a phenomenal success!  They have consistently gotten the best bhangra teams in North America and Canada to come and compete in Boston.  This year will be no different.

This year, the Boston Bhangra Competition, or called BBC for short, will be hosted on November 13th, 2010 at the Orpheum Theatre.  The historic venue in downtown Boston adds a nice flair to the competition which is located at 1 Hamilton Place in Boston, MA.  The capacity is close to 3,000 people, and its very conveniently located in the Downtown Crossing area.  Boston Bhangra hopes to sell out for the 7th straight year even with a slow economy.  Based on the demand and excitement from past years, that could very well happen.

This year, the competition will have teams from all over the US and Canada.  They will have teams from Canada, California, New York, Boston and potentially more locations.  These teams have consistently done well in many competitions, and they will once again make it difficult on the judges.

To add even more excitement to the event, Boston Bhangra will have special performances by the world famous Dark MC and Jaz Dhami!  These artists have made the famous songs: Dushmani, Chori Chori Takna, Theke Wali and many more.  Jaz Dhami is one of the hottest artists in the UK right now and this star is getting brigher and brighter by the day!  Dark MC is probably the largest current South Asian Bhangra producer in the world with many albums under his name and his many future albums waiting for release over the next several years.  They will even be releasing their new album at the competition with some new hit songs!  Just another reason to come to the event!

Bollywood Grill will be the food vendor of choice as they will be serving snacks, dinner and drinks at the venue, so come hungry so that you can enjoy their fantastic food!

The show will be advertised and aired internationally on Sahara MH1!  North America and Canada will be shown the ads for more than a month and the show will have clips shown on international television as well!!  This is the only South Asian competition in the US that has this kind of international exposure!

Overall, this is a huge year for the Boston Bhangra Competition, as they are getting heavily involved with television, bringing great teams to a historic theatre, and serving great food!  This is not a show that you want to miss!  The tickets are very nominally priced between $20 to $40 so that everybody can enjoy the show!  This is very cheap for a show that will be highlighted with more than 3 hours of exciting bhangra!  Boston Bhangra really wants the community from all walks of life to enjoy the show.

MH1, Bollywood Grill, Taj Hotels, and Desiclub are some of the bigger sponsors that have helped to make this show a reality.
