A young Delhi boy dared to pop the question to actress Deepika Padukone when she went to a mall in Delhi to promote her film "Lafangey Parindey". The youth went down on his knees, looked at the Bollywood beauty and asked: "Will you marry me?"  Deepika, who was accompanied by her co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh, seemed baffled by the sudden, unexpected proposal. But she was quick to respond.  "I am not ready for marriage yet, " replied Deepika, who looked lovely in a sari.  But the youth wasn't willing to give up so easily.  "But I am ready for you, " he said.  Deepika, who is rumoured to be dating liquor baron Vijay Mallya's son Siddharth, brushed the whole incident with a laugh.

Rani Mukherjee, who used to be the muse for filmmaker Aditya Chopra, is no longer the director's lucky charm.  Adi, as the filmmaker is fondly called in the industry, held Rani of Black fame in high esteem as his lucky mascot until recently, when it seems the spell of another Bollywood belle has been cast on him. The new arrival in the filmy world of Adi is none other than the charming Katrina Kaif. A source close to the filmmaker reveals that Adi has developed a liking for Katrina after New York, starring Kat along with Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham, became a blockbuster last year.

After  Ritesh Deshmukh walks out of Yash Raj film, a shocked Aditya Chopra hires Tere Bin Laden actor Ali Zafar in his place.  Says a source, "Though Riteish has been telling people that the role didn't work out, he isn't part of the film anymore, so there has to be a reason for his walkout. No one leaves a YRF film without good reason. His departure has come as a shock to Aditya Chopra. Now Riteish has been replaced by Ali Zafar, the Tere Bin Laden actor."

On 15th August Mika Singh created a new record for Indian singers by being the only Indian singer to sing to a capacity crowd of 25,000 people at the Sydney Olympic stadium in Australia. The crowds that lined up to buy tickets to hear this concert included Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and local Australians. This was Mika Singh's solo concert and the crowd had traveled from nearby cities to attend the special Independence Day celebrations with the singer. Mika was overwhelmed with the response he received from the crowd to his hit numbers that included 'Ae Ganpat', 'Dil Mein baji guitar', 'Mauja he mauja', 'Ibne Batuta', 'Tell me Something' and his latest hit 'Apni Toh Jaise Taise'.

Omkar Das Manikpuri, who played the role of Natha in "Peepli Live", Tuesday said he has got more offers from Bollywood but he is being selective about his roles. Omkar, who belongs to Khursipar area of Chhattisgarh's Bhilai town, some 30 km west of here, reached his home state Tuesday for the first time after "Peepli Live" released Friday. "I am reluctant to leave Chhattisgarh. I will probably not settle in Mumbai after 'Peepli Live' success. I will shuttle between Chhattisgarh and Mumbai as offers have started coming in, " he told reporters. Dozens of fans thronged the Raipur airport and beat drums to receive Omkar. A series of functions have been hosted in his honour in Bhilai town.
