Aaja Nachle; the best of the best; I will not think of going anywhere else; very well organized” – Anju

“I can’t believe; with all the goodies; they also had the baby sitters; perfect for me and my family” – Puja

These are but a few comments that were received after the Aaja Nachle gala New Year’s party.

In our experience, this was one of the best New Year eve’s parties that we ever attended.

The ambience was set; beautiful colorful decorations; both Indian and American; the Sheraton Hotel looked like a decorated beautiful bride.
From the entrance the people were made very comfortable with professional check-in; allottment of table setting and entrance arrangements. The seats were all pre-assigned and well organized. The Ball Room was eloquently decorated with round tables, linen tablecloths and with fine china. Each group had their own table numbers. What was better was that the people from the same part of India were seated together…so it was a great time making new friends and mingling with similar background people. The setup was perfect for networking with other groups of Indians.

Satisfied with all the logistics, the participants ventured out for the food section….and, what a nice platter of food was served! Nothing would have been better than starting with hot tomato soup, Samosas; Paneer pakora and Chicken ajwain on one of the coldest winter nights in Boston. The main course was served after 10 pm… had a full range of Indian vegetarian and non vegetarian entrée  starting with Salad, vegetable pulao, chicken masala, Saag, Chole, Aloo gobi, with small tandoori roties nans and parathas, the best was the Methi Parathas…that you don’t usually get in a setting like this…. The dinner was topped off with Gajjar Halwa, Grape Gulab Jamuns and Falooda Kulfi.

That was really an awesome spread of food to begin the New Year 2010. It all ended with the delicious Masala tea for a ride home specially after having loads of drinks from the cash bar.

“The best was that there were no lines for food” comments Mrs. Khosla. It was very smooth. The United India Committee, especially the President, Dolly Raja and the Vice-President Eileen Mehta did an awesome job in organizing the event. The event was attended by 450 + people of all ages.

The main attraction was the Best DJ, the Magic Mike from New York, who kept the crowd on their toes for the most part of the night. He played new and old Hindi songs and a lot of Punjabi numbers. More than 90% of the crowd danced for 3-4 hours continuously.
To keep the spirits, there was also the lucky draw prizes towards the end of the event that included weekend get- a ways ; gift certificates from Bombay Club, Masala Art and Kay Pee Jewelers; Macy’s and Target gift cards with 6 bottles of best wine  What better ways to start the year but a lucky draw win?

Overall it was a splendid New Year’s celebrations in the where people danced non-stop. Both men and women were attractively attired in a semi professional setting.

It was an entertaining, fun filled and a great party indeed; and we all had lots of fun.

Wishing all a very “Happy and a Prosperous New Year”.

Ramesh and Shashi from Raleigh NC (attended the New Year party for the first time)
