Although the release date of ‘Rocket Singh –Salesman of the year’ is barely a few days away, but Yash Raj Films seems to be having no worries over the promotional campaign of the film. Is this because of their brand name or are they overly optimist about Rocket Singh aka Ranbir Kapoor, who has seen a string of success with ‘Wake Up Sid!’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ to bail out the film? Well for the lack of a reasonable logic behind the low profile publicity of a big banner film we asked the director of the film Shimit Amin, on why the promotional campaign of ‘Rocket Singh- Salesman of the year’ is keeping a low profile, though the film itself is based on marketing subject? Shimit Amin says, “Actually, in our industry, marketing is one part where I find lot of corruption. And the films, which have big actors and foreign locations, get more importance although the story has nothing to do with the above-mentioned aspects. We have seen many films whose marketing has been done aggressively, but still they tanked. Regarding our film, it has no song and this is the primary reason why we haven’t promoted it aggressively. At the same time, we don’t want to show the sequences of the film; otherwise, the story of the film will be out, which we don’t want. I believe that if this film remains mystery then people would be anxious to know more about the film and that’s what I want.”

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala who is making ‘Kick’, the remake of a Telugu film starring Ravi Teja and directed by Surender Reddy, has got ‘Ghajini’ director A. R. Murugadoss to direct it. The film stars Salman Khan and the lead heroine will be Deepika Padukone. Nadiadwala was a little uncertain about approaching her as he felt she might have some issues working with Salman, as she is more inclined towards the Shah Rukh Khan-Farah Khan-Karan Johar’s group. However, she told him that she has no qualms about working with Salman.

‘Sarfarosh’ is about to get a sequel soon. At least, director John Mathan has started to work on it. John is currently working on the script and plans to meet the lead of ‘Sarfarosh’, Aamir Khan. Even though the details will be put in place after the script is ready, the buzz is that Rakesh Bapat may play one of the important roles. The female lead has not yet been decided upon. Even though John hasn’t really discussed the story, it is touted to be about national security. In ‘Sarfarosh’, the villain, played by Naseeruddin Shah, was not an Indian, but the sequel will have an Indian villain.

Amisha Patel has been unwell for a while and has been diagnosed with gastro infection. She is getting treated at a suburban hospital by the same doctors who treated Amitabh Bachchan, when he had been admitted there a couple of years ago. Amisha confirmed the news stating that Dr. Barve, who has treated Amitabh and Saif Ali Khan in the past, is treating her. However, her problem is not very severe and she is now recovering. She had to get CT scans as well as some other tests done. She has been kept on a liquid and pure vegetarian diet. Amisha believes her condition isn’t worse enough to be hospitalized and that the doctors have fabulously handled the case.

South Indian actress Poorna faintly resembles Asin but then the actress seems to be imitating Asin a lot in her mannerisms. Recently, Poorna was spotted with almost same-patterned dresses that are usually worn by Asin. Be it her way of addressing the media channels or the walking style: Poorna has been fervently copying Asin’s mannerisms. Poorna, who made her debut in Kollywood with ‘Muniyandi Moondram Vizhangiyal’ has acted in various Kannada films. As of now, the actress is curiously awaiting the release of ‘Kandha Kottai’ starring opposite Nakul. Let’s hope for her sake, this copycatting proves fruitful to her and lands her a role in Bollywood!
