Starting from New Year, Make Green tea your preferred beverage !

Green tea has been traditionally used as medicines in India and more so in China. The Chinese use Green Tea to cure everything from headaches to depression. Recent researches have confirmed that drinking green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research to indicate that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

Though much is yet to be proved scientifically the Green Tea is reputed to be beneficial in the following diseases:

Cancer
Rheumatoid Arthritis
High Cholesterol Levels
Cardiovascular disease
Infection
Impaired Immune Function

Ingredients

•2 tsps loose green tea .
•2 green cardamom pods .
•2 c water .
•5 saffron strands

Directions

 Put water, saffron & cardamom pods into a small sauce pan & bring to a boil over medium high heat.
 Reduce the heat to low & let simmer uncovered for about 2 mins.
 Add the tea & reduce the heat to low.
Simmer carefully for an extra 2 mins.
Strain the tea into small tea c & serve warm.

How much of Green Tea should one drink?

There is no clear answer to this question, however it is widely accepted that the ideal amount of Green Tea consumed should be around 3 to 4 cups per day.
