After the attack of malaria in London Deepika Padukone has had no time to slow down let alone take a break. In fact she was determined to continue working through her delicate post-illness phase specially since she flew down to Delhi for the release of Love Aaj Kal and therefore lost more precious shooting days. But then Deepika hadn’t really bargained for a unit as large-hearted as Sajid Nadiadwala’s. In spite of the lost dates the producer, director and the leading man Akshay Kumar got together to give Deepika some time off this week. Says a source, “Since the cast involves many other permutations and combinations between Akshay and the rest of the cast they decided to let Deepika rest it out for a week and do scenes with the rest of the cast.”

Ranbir Kapoor has decided to start a blog  to write about something he really believes  in: my film Wake Up Sid. Wake Up Sid is a film about so many things that it's hard to pinpoint and talk about any one aspect of it. Over the next few weeks, I will try my best to cover all of them. But let's begin with Sid, as the movie itself begins. Sid is a character that's universally known. He's a lazy, unmotivated slacker who is at a transitional period in his life. His childhood is behind him, and he's not ready to embrace adulthood quite yet. Or, as Britney Spears would have said- "He's not a boy, not yet a man…". His story is my story, and the story of a million other young guys and girls who are at a point in their lives where things are about to change. At a point when they are all about to wake up.

Nothing stops Kareena from being a loving girlfriend to Saif, not even her packed schedule. She took off with Saif to an undisclosed location near Chicago for a secret vacation, as a birthday present to Saif (his birthday was on August 16). They took off after completing their professional commitments and spending some time with close friends. Incidentally, they left for their secret retreat a day after Saif’s birthday. According to sources, they were busy with prior commitments in Houston due to Independence Day, after which they had to attend a meet and greet event in Chicago.  They reached Chicago late in the evening on August 15 and attended the event with Shah Rukh and Katrina, after which they had dinner with them. Kareena planned the holiday to surprise Saif, informed sources. The destination is still unknown and they will be back in Mumbai by the end of this week.

Bollywood icon Shahrukh Khan has found himself “detained” at New Jersey’s Liberty International Airport over the weekend for a “secondary inspection,” which has prompted the Indian media to cry out racism and to point the finger at the high levels the paranoia has reached in the US. SRK was unlawfully detained because of his religion and his name, Times of India says, asking for American celebrities to be treated the same way. Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor Wednesday said Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan's detention at a US airport "raised real questions about US procedures".
