Sensational India! was presented by the Peabody Essex Museum with the generous support of the Desai Family Foundation in April 2009. TV ASIA is planning on broadcasting the footage they collected at the festival on their network. The program, which is also called Sensational India!, will air on July 11th, July 18th, July 25th, August 1st and August 8th. The show will air at Noon each Saturday and feature a different aspect of the mutlifaceted program. So if you missed the festival, or simply want to see some of your favorite performances, please tune in or set your DVRs!
The show will feature:
- the breakthrough exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum, ReVisions: India’s Artists Engaging Traditions with an exclusive one-on-one tour with Curator Susan Beam.
- Performance and Interview by the Nrityagram Odissi Dance Company of India
- Carnatic Ensemble
- Krishna Rasi Group
- Boston Bhangra
- And more!
TV ASIA is airing this program so that those outside the Massachusetts area have a chance to enjoy this dynamic program. Do spread the word to anyone you think would enjoy the sights, sounds and culture of India!
