IIT Sine held its annual social gathering at the United Church of Christ Congregation in Burlington Ma on March 7 2009.  The fun filled evening had IIT alum and their friends and family sharing a nice meal and sharing some their artistic talents.

Music, food and fun marked the IITSINE winter social that was held at the Lexington Lodge of the Elks on March 5th 2005. Over a hundred IIT alumni from the New England area attended the event. The list of attendees included IIT alum, their friends and family.

President Ravi Rastogi presented a few opening remarks. “IITSINE is an organization whose aim is to support the members of the extended IIT community” said Rastogi as he welcomed the gathering.  IITSINE was the first PAN IIT alumni association to be founded in the USA. Other than the social events, the organization also presents seminars on a variety of topics, the most recent one being one that featured the leading Indian Social Entrepreneur, Dr. Ashok Khosla.  One of the Co-Founders, Puran Dang, urged IITians to get involved in social entrepreneurial and non-profit work so that they may use their talents which helped them do well to also do good.

The fun part of the evening was a variety show that showcased the talent of tiny tots . Sanjana Krishnan sang the Carnatic Krithi Ranjani Ni Ranjani.  For one so young she handled the song with such skill. Vinayak and Karthik Sharma played a Viola Violin duet. Maithreyi Shankar presented a Bharatantayam number while Ravi Rastogi’s kids delighted the audience with their Bollywood number.  Sheetal Lad presented a beautiful bollywood medley.

 Dr. Vijay Kumar(IITM) delighted the audience with a golden oldie. The evening ended with a grand finale by a professional Karoke presentation by Shrish Nimgaonkar (IITB) who sang wonderful numbers like Jab Deep Jale Aane.
Bingo hosted by Anil Saigal  which has become an annual IITSINE tradition brought some light hearted fun. It was a wonderful family evening as usual. To find out more about IITSINE please check their website at http://www.iitsine.org
