Aalok Of Lexington Presents Diwali Sale, Holistic Treatment Demo

Chitra Parayath
//

Aalok, the popular Indian Boutique  of Lexington hosts an evening of relaxation

  Retired physician Pratibha Parasnani will be at the Aalok boutique on Sunday, October 27 from noon until 2 Pm to present a lecture demonstration on Craniosacral Therapy.

Ms. Parasnani tells us that CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Having trained as a physician, she is well aware of how the human body functions and this alternate method of medicine, she says, has helped thousands of patients around the world.

CST was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.

The light-touch technique works with natural and unique rhythms of our different body systems to pinpoint and correct source problems.

Mrs. Parasmani integrates CST with Reiki and meditation to offer a wholistic treatment of all ailments. This session is open, and free to the public.

  Aalok presents their Diwali Sale

The colors will dazzle you, the designs will tempt you and the prices will still be a pleasant surprise for your pocket book. Aalok of Lexington announced their Diwali sale in effect and your Lokvani scribes, Chitra and Nirmala decided to check it out.

Lehnga Cholis, Saris with stitched blouses/ unstitched blouse pieces, gorgeous embroidered Salwar suits and Churidars were all on display. There were cute little beaded and embroidered hand- bags selling for a fraction of what you’d pay for them at a department store. Chunky Jewelry shared a shelf with delicate ones with Meenakari work, and beaded belts in all colors, shapes and sizes beckoned to us. Our teenage daughters who accompanied us on this quasi- journalistic venture found every little thing irresistible and we came back home with bags of tops and little knick - knacks.

So if you are looking for that little something to spark up your Diwali outfit or for a gift that will appeal to your picky American pal, head to this store in downtown Lexington. Tell your pals about the bargains awaiting them at Aalok .

Also look out for a fashion show by Aalok at the upcoming Bollywood Talent Show.
