With Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan carrying home a pay packet of Rs 4 crores for her proposed stint as Rajnikanth's leading lady in Shankar's Robot, the lady has now become the highest-paid actress of Indian cinema. A source very close to Aishwarya says, "The media has got it all wrong. Ash has actually received twice the amount quoted in papers  and on websites as her fee for Robot. Yes, it's close to Rs 4 crores. And she's very very amused when she reads about this and that actress being the highest-paid actress in Bollywood. With three hits in a row (Guru, Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa-Akbar) Ash's equity as a Rai and a Bachchan have gone through the roof. If she wants she can preen about her successes. But that's not her style.  However she takes strong exception to Bipasha Basu 's quotes that she, Ash, had to 'hang around' to get into the international circuit. Ash has been regularly offered international projects, from Provoked to Mistress Of Spices to Bride & Prejudice to Last Legion to Pink Panther. In fact all the other international assignments that have gone to other Bollywood actresses—including the honour of hosting the 7 Wonders Of  The World event in Lisbon with Ben Kingsley—have gone to Ash first.  It's just that she feels awkward talking about herself."  As for her astronomical fee for Robot another source close to the project says, "It is no surprise that Aishwarya is getting 4 crores.”

After the success of his Aap Kaa Surroor-The Moviee, The Real Luv Story, Himesh Reshammiya  has signed a three-film contract with T-Series. Karzzzz is the first of these three, a remake directed by Satish Kaushik. The second is Kajra Re. To be directed by Pooja Bhatt  , this movie will be shot in Jordan and will be released early next year. The third film is A Love Issshtory by Sarfarosh maker John Matthew Matthan. It will be released late next year.

Ranbir Kapoor has finally admitted that he has been in a serious relationship with Deepika Padukone for the past few weeks. The two of them, who had been friends earlier, grew close to each other during the filming of Bachna Ae Haseenon in Australia earlier this year. A self-confessed die-hard Rishi Kapoor fan, Deepika Padukone had to pinch herself when she met her idol, and not as a fan but Rishi's son's girlfriend. "It's amazing. But in his younger days my dad (badminton champ Prakash Padukone) was often told he resembled Rishi Uncle. I grew up as his big fan, have seen Karz and Kabhi Kabhie any number of times. When Ranbir took me to meet his parents I was re-living my childhood images of the most compatible couple I've ever seen on screen. Ranbir's parents have taken to their prospective daughter-in-law in a big way. "Rishi Uncle is so warm.As for Neetu Aunty she has an aura of natural grace and charm about her. She's very poised and articulate. I've met her more than I've met Uncle. We're going to be working together. We had a reading together recently. He's so passionate about cinema. I've so much to learn from him. " Deepika is all praise for the Kapoor couple for their children's upbringing. "Both Ranbir and his sister Ridhima have been brought up with the right values. They come from such an illustrious family. And yet they're so down-to-earth. I see many similarities between their upbringing and mine.Though both Ranbir and I were exposed to celebrity situations from childhood our parents have made sure we're firmly rooted to reality."

The news of seeing the sexy sisters, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora together in an item song has now bit the dust as the duo have been replaced by the gorgeous Sophie Choudhry.  It is  Sanjay Gadhvi's film, 'Kidnap'. A very delighted Sophie acclaims, "Sanjay Gadhvi and I have been good friends! He had spoken to me about this song three weeks ago. I usually have refrained from doing item numbers, but I could not say no to this one asit was for a crucial part of the film. The song appears during the pre-climax of the film. It is great being a part of a film in such a big way. Also it involved Sanjay Dutt and I'd do anything for a respected and adored actor like him". Sanjay Gadhvi who was earlier keen on casting the Arora sisters for the item number now says, "The personality that Sophie has is in sync with the look and the song. I could not have wanted anybody else for this number". Sophie who had won all hearts for her number in Pyaar Ke Side Effects adds on, "I am doing the song now and that is a fact! I am not aware whether Malaika and Amrita were to do it. I was not in country when the news that Malaika and Amrita were to do the number splashed out in the media. I don't even care about it."

Once great buddies, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan are apparently at loggerheads today. Reason: Khan refused to be a part of Dutt’s next home-production to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is a desi remake of the 1984 Hollywood blockbuster Ghostbusters.  Apart from Khan, the film was expected to topline Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh. The reason behind Khan’s refusal is best known to the actor but Dutt is not amused. A source close to him informs that when Sohail Khan was making his debut opposite a new girl, Sameera Reddy, in Maine Dil Tujhko Diya back in 2002, it was Dutt’s presence in the film that brought in the buyers and the viewers.
