Facebook! LinkedIn! Craig’s List! Google! Health 2.0! Web 2.0, Bollywood! Leveraging India’s Growth!

If the above sounds like the hot trends in today’s world and you would like to hear more about them, then head to TiECON East 2008 to be held at the Westin Hotel in Waltham on May 29th and May 30th, 2008. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Harnessing the Network: Communication, Collaboration, and Convergence: The 3 new Cs in Success".

Ravi Mantha, Chair of TiECON East, finds the theme as an ideal fit into the overall mission of TiE Boston."This year's conference theme is "Harnessing the Network".  Networks of all kinds have been around for a long time, but we are only just beginning to see their true value as repositories of collective knowledge, intelligence and wisdom.  In areas like problem-solving, wealth creation, and social welfare to name but a few, the network effect is being unleashed for the benefit of humanity.  This year's TiECON aims to provide a window into the power of networks across the board".

Raj Alur, President of TiE Boston sees this also as an opportunity for the talented and successful Charter members to give back, " This is  a platform for every member at Boston, the vibrant entrepreneur to seek and  the resourceful charter members to mentor and give back.  " Just as every venture capitalist looks for the next big idea, there is a passionate entrepreneur within our networks working on or conceiving it”.

Dr Vanita Shastri, Executive Director, TiE-Boston says that this year is a major milestone for TiECON East “This year marks the 10th year of TiECON EAST, a premier business conference organized by TiE Boston. We are very excited and invite entrepreneurs and community leaders to participate in the best networking opportunity on the East Coast”.

Geetha Ramamurthy, Co-Chair of the Entrepreneur Forum, a new program introduced with the TiE member entrepreneur in mind,  is all energized about the upcoming Entrepreneur Forum on May 29th, 2008. “ TiE Boston is the second largest chapter  only after Silicon Valley “ she says, “and the number of growing entrepreneurs in our membership base is to be celebrated . Our mission to constantly take care of our Entrepreneur, offer resources and a platform to thrive is our concern as well as our strength”. As Co-Chair of the forum along with Pat Noonan and Gautam Gupta she is optimistic that once the word spreads about its potential, entrepreneurs will line up to take advantage of the opportunity.

So what exactly is the Entrepreneur Forum that is creating such a buzz this year at TiECON East 2008?  An idea that grew out of the Entrepreneurship bazaar of Silicon Valley  and reinvented itself to adhere to the more intellectual premise of the TiE Boston Programs, it promises to be a win-win for the Entrepreneur as well as the Venture Capitalist and Service provider. The Entrepreneur Forum promotes a platform for entrepreneurs seeking capital and advice via a facilitated, quality one-on-one time (up to 30 minutes) with industry experts from the Venture Capital, Angel, Charter Members and Service Partners including Legal, Finance and other sectors.

Pat Noonan and Gautam Gupta, also Co-Chairs of the Forum see its tremendous potential to the investor and believe that VC’s will get to see and hear the best that TiE can offer. Carl Stjernfeldt, General Partner, Castile Ventures will conduct the pre-event workshop on May 1st which will be useful as well as informative to the entrepreneur looking for funding or advice.

The Entrepreneur Forum will take place on May 29th at the Westin hotel in Waltham. Entrepreneurs are invited to apply early as the program accepts applications from March 1st to April 1st and submit thier executive summaries. All Registrants will also get to attend a  pre-event workshop on May 1st and pre-selected applicants will present in the  final round on May 29th 2008.
