500 Plus Attend Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Inauguration

Press Release
01/07/2008

New England Shirdi Sai Parivar (NESSP) held the long awaited opening of the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple on the auspicious day of Dattatreya Jayanti on December 23rd 2007. Five hundred plus attended the temple inauguration event which included pranprathistha for the Sai Baba Murti.  The pranprathistha of the murti was done by Pt. Mahesh Shelat of the ISSO Swaminarayan temple in Lowell Massachusetts. The pranprathistha program included Navgraha pooja followed by Baba’s abhishek. Hundreds of devotees chanted Baba’s name during the abhishek and immersed themselves in his glory. The abhishek was followed by recitals of Vishnu Sahasranaam and Sai Mahima. Sai Bhandara (lunch) was served to all the devotees after the Madhyana (afternoon) aarti.

Sai Baba devotees in the New England area have been in search of a suitable place of worship for Sai Baba. With Sai Baba's infinite blessings and the support of devotee community, we have rented Suite #8 on the premises of the Sadhu Vaswani Center in Dracut Massachusetts. The temple will be open on Thursday from 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 4-7 pm.

NESSP has been formed to bring all devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba from the New England area together to spread the message of Baba. The parivar’s vision is to spread the message of love, kindness, unity and make a meaningful contribution to the welfare of the mankind without any distinction of religion, region, race, sect or personal belief. Our mission is also to construct a Shirdi Sai Temple in the area which will be a centre for social and spiritual activities promoting Sai Baba’s message of Shraddha (Faith) and Saburi (Patience).  For more information please visit our website at www.nessp.org
