Leader Bank Gets The Business Of The Year Award

Sushil Tuli accepted the Business of the Year Award presented to Leader Bank by Arlington Chamber of Commerce on November 14, 2007.  He was present at the exclusive ceremony with his wife Rita Tuli and son Jay Tuli.  The award was presented to Leader bank for its strong presence in the community at the “Achievements Awards Banquet” held at Sons on Italy in Arlington.  

Robert Bowes of GMAC Real Estate presented “Business of  Year Award” to the leader of Leader Bank Sushil Tuli. “Ask any member of the Leader Bank team about community philosophy and you will hear the same answer – A thriving community organization draws its strength from businesses from neighborhood,” said Bowes.  Weather it is leading the shop in Arlington, first initiative for chamber, or pioneering new programs with the Arlington schools, Leader Bank is an innovator and a significant supporter of the community.

Leader bank has maintained strong presence in the community with its elementary school banking program. It offers low interest home loans for town employees. It has also participated in many events such as the Patriots Day Parade. The bank is an active member of Arlington Chamber of commerce and partnered with the chamber to promote local commerce. The bank has now achieved significant milestone by exceeding $200 million in assets.

“The leader of the Leader Bank is Sushil Tuli,” said Bowes. Tuli has served as the President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Leader Bank since its founding in 2002. He is also the chairman and sole owner of Leader Mortgage Company, which was formed in 1986. He has chaired the Massachusetts  Mortgage Bankers Association, the largest mortgage banking association in New England. From 1994 to 1996 he served as a member of Fannie Mae’s Regional Advisory Council. Mr. Tuli was selected as finalist for the 2003 and 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

“I feel proud for being part of Arlington community and it is an honor to receive this award,” said Tuli. He said the community has helped him from the day he entered in Arlington.  He announced the 555 Program through which Businesses in Arlington can borrow 5000 dollars for 5 years at  5% interest rate. The loan can be used to improve the looks the looks of the business.
