Protecting Yourself & Your Children Online

India Society of Worcester, one of New England’s most vibrant Indian Association, is launching a new monthly seminar series for communities in Central Massachusetts. Seminars, offered free of admission fee, will be held 4th Friday of every month at India Center located at India Center (152 Main Street in Shrewsbury, MA). Attendees do not need to be members of India Society of Worcester.

Seminar series will have several tracks beginning with Finance, Health, Society & Culture and Family. Seminars will begin with two different formats - in some cases with a keynote speaker and sometimes seminars will be held with a panel of experts discussing, debating two sides of an issue.

The first panel discussion will deal with 'Protecting Yourself & Your Children Online'.

Speaker Bios:

Adam Winter, President Swiftec IT, Inc.

Adam Winter has been in the field of Information Technology for over 20 years. He received a Bachelors of Business Administration from Pace University in New York, with a concentration in Management Information Systems, and a Masters of Business Administration from Clark University.  His past employers include: General Foods, Gillette, Coopers & Lybrand, EMC, Allmerica as well as a few startup companies.  Currently, he is President of Swiftec IT, Inc, (http://SwiftecIT.com) located in Northborough.   Swiftec's focus is providing outsourced IT services to businesses in the MetroWest Area.

In his spare time Adam does volunteer work for: Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce, Rotary (Northborough, Westborough, and the local District), Congregation B'nai Shalom (Westborough), Home Safety Network (www.HomeSafetyNetwork.org), as well as the Northborough Family League ( www.northboroughfamilyleague.com).  His email is awinter@swiftecit.com if you have any questions.

Ellen Miller, District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.'s Office

Ellen Miller received her BA in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College.  Over the past ten years she has been with the District Attorney’s Office-Worcester County.  In 2000, she was assigned to the Community & School Programs Unit where she has been establishing working relationships with school districts though the 59 cities & towns within Worcester County, and she continues to do so for the new District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.’s Office.  Mrs. Miller provides training for police, teachers, students and communities throughout the Middle District on topics such as Internet Safety, Date Rape and Designer Drugs, the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Systems, and Mock Trial presentations.  Over the past ten years, she has given almost 1,000 presentations reaching over 75,000 people.
