Last year, around this time, we had a baby. It disrupts our peace, cries for attention all the time, makes messes for us to clean up, this demanding, monster of a child but we love it to death. But babies are all like that, aren’t they? We love to pamper the little brat with love and attention and hope that it grows up to be a responsible adult.

Having five parents to share the chores is helpful, while one changes the diaper, the others feed, clean and pacify the little beast.

Well, our baby is year old this week. Lokvani, beloved web portal of thousands of desis around NE celebrates it’s first Birthday.

The past year has been eventful. There have been good days when we felt we could take on the world and there were bad ones when we struggled to keep our morale high. One thing was never in doubt, though. The future of lokvani, this portal that the five of us sweated over and created with love and care. We enjoyed the ride, bumpy, though it was often. So it is with immense pride that we commemorate this anniversary.
