L Is For Ladoos

Bread and Banana Ladoos

 

Ingredients:

Bread - 12 slices
Desiccated coconut - 1 cup
Sugar - 5 tsp

Ripe banana - 1
Milk - 1/4 cup
Oil for frying

 

Method

Cut bread into small pieces in a wide skillet. Add sugar, milk and coconut and chopped bananas. Knead them together to make it into thick dough. Make small lemon sized balls off the above dough. Heat oil in a pan. Fry them in oil until light brown

 

 

Wheat Flour Ladoos

Ingredients:
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Powdered sugar - 3/4 cup
Cardamom -1/2 tsp
Cloves -2
Ghee -1/2 cup (approx)
Raisins /kismis 1 tsp

Method:
Heat a tsp of ghee and fry cloves. Add wheat flour and fry on a very low flame for around 10minutes (till you get the aroma). Now add sugar and fry for 5min. Add cardamom and raisins. Now add the remaining ghee, slightly cool. Shape into Ladoos.

 

Black Gram Ladoos

 

Ingredients:

Black gram – 2 cups
Rice - 4 - 5 tbsp
Jaggery/brown sugar – ½ cup grated
Ghee - 5 - 6 tsp

Method:

Roast the dal until it gives off the fried smell. Roast the rice also until brown.
Grind them to a fine powder. Grate or powder jaggery. Mix in a flat dish and pour boiling ghee over it. Mix well again.When it is still hot, shape into small lime sized balls.
