Aishwarya and Abhishek made their first public appearance after wedding at 60th Cannes Film Festival. The couple walked together on the red carpet on the opening night on Wednesday.  After their extended honeymoon in Tahiti, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have now descended on the French Riviera. Ash, who is a regular at the Cannes fest since 2002 (when Devdaas was screened), is attending the fest this year as the brand ambassador for French cosmetics giant L'Oreal.

After having been ousted from Tarun Mansukhani's untitled film (starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Saif Ali Khan), Kareena Kapoor's prayers might just be answered as she might be seen in Karan Johar's next production, which is definitely not Karan's much-talked-about next, which is set in New York and stars Shah Rukh Khan. The film is an 'unusual' love story and will be directed by Siddharth Malhotra who's presently writing the screenplay of the film.

Naseeruddin Shah has just shared Rice Plate with Shabana. He is off to Dehra Doon with wife Ratna Pathak to watch his younger son's first stage production. "It's a play that Vivaan has directed in school," declares the proud father. "My wife and I are going to watch it on Thursday night. He has been winning the best-actor award on stage for two years. But this is his first stab at direction." Naseer's son Imaad is about to make his debut as a leading man in Dil Dosti, Etc. "But it isn't his debut by any means," Naseer clarifies. "He played a small role as a baby in with me in The Perfect Murder. He also did a part in my Pestonjee many years ago.

It looks like the 'media mischief' between Bengal's prized celluloid creator Rituparno Ghosh and John Abraham are over. Claiming he was misquoted on John being a misfit to play Bhootnath in Pritish Nandy Communications Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Ritu says he's now at peace with the idea. "I never said I was unhappy with John as an actor. We sorted out the differences. Not just Bhootnath. I also want John to play Arjun in my Mahabharat where Bipasha will be Draupadi. He has the right personality for my version of the epic. Initially I did have reservations about John as Bhootnath.

There's much speculation as to why Vidya Balan opted out of Pradeep Sarkar's new film Laga Chunri Main Daag. Apparently Vidya didn't want to do the second lead in a Rani Mukherjee starrer. Vidya laughs off this allegation. "That is so untrue. Dada (Pardeep Sarkar) is like family to me. Not being in his film was inconceivable to me. I can't believe the film is being made without me even now when I'm actually not in his film. The ads and the feature film (Parineeta) that I've done with Dada is very precious to me."vShe sighs and explains, "I actually can't believe I'm not doing Dada's film. There's no way I could've let this happen. But Dada wanted to complete the film within a certain period. My dates for that period were committed to Sajid Khan's Hey Baby a year back. In Sajid's film my dates had to be co-ordinated with Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan and Kunal Kapoor. In Dada's film my dates had to be co-ordinated with Jayaji, Rani, Abhishek and Kunal. Both projects needed chunk dates. Not doing Dada's film wasn't an easy call to take.

These days the industry is abuzz on how Vivek, reminiscent of his 'Company' days, is back again in the role of a gangster playing the dreaded 'Maya Dolas' in 'Shoot out at Lokhandwala'. Insiders, who have seen the rushes, have raved about the realistic portrayal and the integrity and authenticity he has brought to Maya Dolas' character.

And importantly, Vivek has successfully left his past behind. Insiders claim that Vivek refused to dance to a song that had Aishwarya Rai’s name in the lyrics for ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala'. According to sources, he was very dignified and tactfully told the director to give the lyrics, which went like 'Bipasha, Mallika, Priyanka ya ho Aishwarya Rai…, to some other actor. Eventually, the gangster-influenced song, sung by the irrepressible Mika, had Tusshar Kapoor mouthing the lines.

Govinda is a skilled dancer is a known fact. But his expertise in local dances is a tad outdated in comparison with modern dances in today’s films. Now that Govinda is doing more films than before, the actor-politician has decided to hone his dance skills.  To keep pace with changing trends, Govinda is learning two foreign dance forms: Salsa and Jive. Let’s keep an eye for his steps in upcoming movies.
