Abhishek and Aishwarya  performed a series of pujas at the holy city's famous Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Sankat Mochan temple during the early hours of Monday, November 27.   Heavy police deployment and a tight security ring prevented any intruders, particularly the media. However, an insider who witnessed the entire rituals at the heavily guarded Kashi Vishwanath Temple said, "The rituals began around 3 am and continued until 4:30 am.” Family priest Chandramouli Upadhyaya, the first to call on the Bachchan family at the Taj Ganges hotel shortly after their arrival late Sunday night, told mediapersons, "The family was here to perform certain prayers on the [99th] birth anniversary of Amitabh's father, famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan." However, when reporters asked what Aishwarya had to do with such a closed family affair, he claimed ignorance. Besides Amitabh Bachchan, his wife Jaya, daughter Shweta and brother Ajitabh were among the key persons to participate in the rituals

It's official. The Big B will not host Star's flagship game- show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Shah Rukh Khan gets onto the premium seat. Samir Nair attributes this startling change of guard to the original host's busy schedules. "We pursued Mr Bachchan for months. But he didn't seem to be very enthusiastic. In the meantime we acquired KBC rights in the season-format for years whereby we had to have the show on air for 52 episodes every year, or our rights lapsed.

A new development in Bipasha's life: she has been, in her words, rewarding herself with vacations. "For years it was just New Years. But Now I indulge myself on holidays when I feel like. I just went to the Toronto film festival with John. It was a lovely experience,” says Bipasha, who returned from a recent trip to Toronto. Right now Bipasha is scared of marriage. "I love kids. But right now my nephew whose parents are setting up house in Mumbai, is staying with me. And I'm scar-r-r-e-d to even think about having my own kids… Right now parenthood seems like the most difficult job in the world. I've told my sister my nephew is enough. I don't think I can have a child of my own for a long time."

The fact that Karisma Kapoor is all set for a comeback goes without saying. However rumors of her return keep surfacing through one project or another thereby creating unnecessary speculation about her plans. Some time ago there was a strong rumor that Karisma was returning to cinema with Ram Gopal Varma's Sholay, a rumour that both the actress and the filmmaker strongly refuted. Earlier still she was supposed to serve as a judge on the dance contest Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. It seems someone somewhere is extremely eager to see Karisma back. A press release   claimed Karisma has agreed to be in Onir's next film entitled You & I.  But Karisma strongly denies the rumor. "All these are just rumors. I haven't signed any film officially. Yes, I've been hearing a lot of scripts. But that's about it," is all she's willing to say at the moment. So until her expectations from a renewed career are met by a vehicle she chooses, Karisma is happy being a wife and mother.

A statement made in Surat by the ever-controversial Himesh Reshammiya has incensed the singing diva Asha Bhosle beyong repair, provoking her to express violent thoughts on Himesh. Himesh apparently accused R.D. Burman of singing nasally. To this the ever-spirit Ashaji responded, "If anyone says Burman Saab sang through his nose he should be slapped." Himesh responded, "I don't know what has hit me. It was never my intention to insult Pancham-da (RD). How can I, when I've grown up learning music composition from Laxmikant-Pyarelal and RD?”, and explained, "During an event I was asked about my 36 hits in two years, and what how did I answer charges of singing through my nose. To this I responded by saying Mukesh Saab, R.D. Burman Saab and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab were never accused of singing nasally. I only wanted to prove a point. Now I realize I made a mistake. I should've never brought in the names of these greats in my argument. Choti mooh aur badi baat. It was a mistake."

Boman Irani manages to pull off every role he plays and leave an impression. "Munnabhai M.B.B.S.", undoubtedly catapulted him into limelight and he has been inundated with an avalanche of offers since then. So, is he now meticulously weighing the pros and cons before signing films? "I tried to be as selective as possible. You cannot do every film that comes your way. Moreover, it's physically not possible. Having said that,  I also feel that one cannot afford to be too choosy either. So, I am not being overly selective about films," says Boman.
