A group of 23 kids, all under the age of 8, from the Andover/North Andover area put up a spectacular performance of Rhythm and Dance at the Grand Diwali Ball 2006 hosted by the Sindhi Association of New England.

The event was held at the Hilton Woburn Plaza hotel and was attended by over 300 people. Among other Diwali festivities, the cultural program featuring young kids has become the hallmark of this event over the years.

This year's program was led off by a very unique performance on the tunes of 'Nach All Night' from the movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. It was unique not just because it was the first time that so many kids had come together in a short span of time to perform at this event but also the fact that the entire production including the choreography, dress design, tailoring, making of the props etc. - were all conceived and executed by the enthusiastic moms of this lively bunch. According to one of the moms who hosted and catered to the practices at her house every Sunday afternoon for 4 weeks – it was amazing to see how a group of such young kids get so involved in performing for a live audience, marking the relevance of an auspicious occasion like Diwali.

The performance set the stage for an exciting cultural program that had more dances and songs. The entire show kept audience on their feet and cheering in support.

The 'Nach All Night' troupe will be performing again at the Indian Association of Merrimack Valley (IAMV) Diwali function on November 11.
