Chinmaya Maruthi in Andover had a Nava Graha Chara Sthapana  on September 23rd, 2006 with traditional rituals and ceremony at its center in Andover, MA.

“The Navagraha Sthapan requires great care and attention," says Dr. Dwarkanath, president of the mission. "In Hindu tradition, the idol represents the ideal and we propitiate it to reach that goal” Asked if it was traditional to a Chinmaya mission, he said, “ We felt the need to install the Navagraha here as part of the temple deities because of their sacredness. Also it is accessible for devotees who live around this region.”

The deities were brought all the way from Bangalore and were donated to the Mission by Saloni Fadia of the Fadia Foundation. ‘The only part that we did was to bring the idols here and the rest the Mission took care” said Saloni Fadia who participated in the event along wiht her mother and close friends. Many friends and well wishers attended among them Jaishree Deshpande, Radha Jalan, Geeta Ramamurthy, Vinod and Shikha Kapoor and other people devoted to the mission. Ramesh Motwani made a generous donation to the Mission and called the Fadia’s family very  charitable in their contribution to the community.

Resident acharya, Brahmacharini Bhamathiji participated in the days’s events along with temple priests and visiting swamis who had come to grace the occasion.
