Dear Reader

They say April showers brings May Flowers, but this month we have been deluged by the rain god more than usual We extend our sympathies to all those affected by the floods here in New England. There is no predicability to Nature's way, a constant reminder that we as humans are not invincible.

On a brighter note, Sunita Lyn Williams, 37, is among one of the three astronauts selected for a 6-month-long International Space Station expedition this September. She will be the flight engineer along with Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin. This is indeed great news.

Also we read recently that two teenage New Jersey figure skaters — Ami Parekh, 18, and Amar Mehta, 15 — moved to India in 2004 to get a chance to represent India at the 2010 Winter Olympics. To do this they had to apply for Indian Citizenship - A reversal indeed !

And for the highlight from the editor's desk. Londoners were treated to a rare and magical event - the parading of a  42 ton elephant  - This is an amazing story for all our readers. To know more click on
