Can you help recommend books on India? I and few other volunteers are working on a project to recommend list of books on the Indian subcontinent to The Cary Memorial Library in Lexington. The books will be purchased using the interest earned on the Indian American Library Trust at the Cary Library established by Indian Americans of Lexington. The trust can purchase all library media including Movies, DVDs, Books, eBooks etc. Specific recommendations are sought for History, Business & Economics, Children’s literature, Politics, Contemporary Fiction, and Classic literature including religion like Ramayana, Bhagvat Gita etc.

Have you ever experienced a child looking to do research for a school project but cannot find resources? Are you looking to borrow a much talked about book by an Indian author from the library? Or you are trying to help a friend research on India then you know the value of such a collection in local libraries. Does your town have a good catalogue of such a collection? Are you an avid reader of good books? Tell us the books on the Indian Sub Continent you would like to see in your own town library? We welcome suggestions, Book lists, book titles, topics and resource that are important in the Indian American community? Post your suggestion in the Comments section or send an email to Nirmala@lokvani.com. We appreciate your input.
