AISHWARYA Rai starrer Provoked, depicting the role of a battered Indian wife in the UK, will be premiered at the Cannes Film festival on May 19, the film`s director Jagmohan Mundhra said in Mumbai on Monday. It is a true story of Kiranjit who killed her violent husband. The case had shocked Britain nearly a decade and half ago.

After entertaining audiences with the bawdy hit "Masti", director Indra Kumar returns with the Fardeen Khan-Vivek Oberoi starrer "Pyare Mohan" this Friday hoping to hit the right comic note again. This time he is depending upon two physically impaired heroes to elicit laughter. The film revolves around Fardeen Khan, who is blind, and Vivek Oberoi, who is deaf.

Mallika Sherawat fans are quite curious to know what the actress’s latest hoardings are all about. The photographs have been splashed all over. She is seen sporting a hot green and gold number. Now the cat is out of the bag. She has been signed on by Pepsi to endorse their soft drink brand Seven Up. We even caught a glimpse of the commercial, she recently shot. The ad has an Arabian Nights theme. Mallika is seen holding a magic lamp.

Bollywood's Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, will play the coach of a girls' field hockey team in a new Hindi film to be produced later this year. The film is inspired by the 2002 crossover hit ''Bend It Like Beckham,'' in which the daughter of conservative Sikh parents living in London rebels against tradition by playing on a soccer team. ''Chak De,'' or ''Go For It,'' as the film is tentatively titled, deals with how Khan's character pushes a mediocre field hockey team to victory.

She never succeeded as a heroine; but as a vamp she was a blast... literally. Helen the Bollywood super-vamp of yesteryear has finally had a comprehensive book done on her, ‘Helen — The Life and Times of an H-Bomb’, by Jerry Pinto. "I have written this book to celebrate a woman who has danced for 30 years in an industry which generally allows people couple of years of fame. She is the only actress who enthralled three generations continuously for 30 years with her scintillating dance numbers. There cannot be any other Helen in the world," said Pinto.

Very few know that the aloof and shy Ajay Devgan, who proved his mettle in films like "Raincoat" and "GangaaJal", is net savvy and has launched his personal website ajaydevgan.net. A source close to the actor said: "Ajay has realised that it is important to have a website in today's hi-tech world. A website not only gives important and correct information about him but also connects him with his fans all over the world. "He regularly monitors his website and makes sure his fans get all the up-to-date information on him. He replies to all mail himself."
