There is so much always happening in the South Asian Community nowadays be it in media, films, community and business. Each has its story to tell, rejoice, celebrate or ponder upon, inviting comment in general. Some of them gain mainstream media attention as the one on Kaavya Vishwananthan, the sophomore from Harvard whose novel,’How Opal Mehta got kissed, got wild and got a life’ made big news recently. Her story resonates with many Americans with an Indian background and will probably be a delight We hope to review this book too in our pages at some point and carry her story.

The point being made is, we as a community are newsworthy and justly so. At Lokvani, as a community media we try to bring in the same positive spirit. In this issue we bring in Saroj Madan, whose travel agency at Lowell has had seven years of success. The other story is on Sanjay and Sangeetha of Gayatri Parivar who are committed to enhancing the spiritual life of many families.

How does an IAFPE internship enrich the life of a Wellesly student ? Aliya Kahlidi shares her thoughts. Another brilliant prodigy Rohan Krishnamurthy also makes news for being selected to be an inclusion in the All-College Academic B Team.A host of fun events coming up are listed  in our local calendar on our website. It is most updated and current so don’t forget to check on it. Plus all our regular features. We welcome your feedback . Send us an email to info@lokvani.com

Enjoy the rest of February before the March Madness takes over.
