On the heels of the success Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Himesh Reshammiya and Emraan Hashmi come together to bring you Aksar. The soundtrack is sure to please all Reshammiya fans who get to hear his voice in all three versions of the song ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’. While Emraan Hashmi has not delivered any hits, he always has been featured in the most hit and popular tracks composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

The album comprises of five original tracks and seven remixes of the original songs creating a total of 12 tracks. The album opens with ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’ that is bound to be a hit. Buoyed by the success of his singing in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Reshammiya  again lends his voice to this interesting number.  It is a song that cannot quite be classified into any particular genre. A perfect combination of rhythm, melody and musical arrangements it is very catchy and the kind of number that not likely to be forgotten soon. The tempo builds up beautifully for the remix version of this song and it “rocks”. The ‘Unplugged’ version featured at the end of the album cuts down the musical beats and highlights only a few instruments. It features a lovely Tabla accompaniment.

Reshammiya pairs up with Sunidhi Chauhan for the next song. Titled ‘Laagi Laagi Prem Dhun Laagi’, it is a melodious love number. This  song is also featured in two versions - original and remix. Infused with sufi tone and western instruments, this is the consecutive track in the album that keeps you engrossed.  Both the singers gel well together. The pace gets faster for the ‘remix’ and the song turns more energetic due to the added percussion and instruments. An  enjoyable number.

Sunidhi Chauhan  joins KK to render the next song ‘Soniye’. Once again the song features in two version, original and remix.  Soniye is primarily a K.K. song with just a passage by Sunidhi Chauhan A soft-n-mellow song with a message of 'I love you so much that I can't think of life beyond you', it has K.K. rendering the track quite well while giving different shades to it in its 5 minutes duration. The 'remix' version that follows next changes track to become more of a peppy dance number without going overboard with unwanted beats and jazzy effects.

Next we have 'Loot Jayenge' is primarily sung by Kunal Ganjawala with Reshammiya's regular Jayesh Gandhi chipping in intermittently. It is a rhythmic high-on-beats number that fits well with the album's proceedings. A song that again follows the theme of 'I can't live without you', it has a lively feel to it and sounds much better in the 'remix' version.

The album winds down with the theme music. It starts out on a very soft note which is a nice change of pace after the break neck speed of the other tracks. The female vocal that comes next is enchanting as well that gives the track a grand appeal. Later there is a twist in the tale with the theme music catching on pace yet retaining the haunting feel.

With catchy tunes and beats that drag you to the dance floor, Aksar shows great promise.  Himesh Reshammiya is likely to hit gold again with Aksar.
