One of the yearly community service activities of the Indian Youth Group (IYG) is Holiday Caroling.  This program is intended to bring a moment of joy and happiness to the lives of our respected elders.  In this program, IYG youths sing Holiday songs for them.  This year, IYG students began to practice various holiday songs early on the morning of Christmas Eve.  The club Advisor, Mr. Shri Garg, helped organized this small trip to the Manor on the Hill Assisted Living Home in Leominster to sing Christmas carols.   The small group of high school students sang classic holiday carols such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel, and many more.  Participants included Anshul Parulkar, Aditya Kota, Sahitya Kota, Aurnab Bando, Esha Bawa, Nithya Setty, Sumana Setty, Anunita Garg, Diya Majumdar, and Supreeta Gubbala.  The holiday spirit was soaring high as students introduced and aquainted themselves with their elders.  The weather was chilly, but carols soon warmed up the home. The Manor on the Hill was gracious to treat the carolers with some holiday cake and ice cream.  The group left the home pleased that it could some spread holiday cheer.

IYG is an association operated by high school youths of the Indian community of the general Worcester areaAlthough it is a part of India Society of Worcester (ISW), the IYG has its own Executive Committee consisting of all youth members under an adult Advisor.  The group is open to students of all nationalities from ages 12 to 1 8 and provides a platform for youths to serve our community.
