UIA Celebrates Diwali With A Bang

In keepin up with its annual tradition, United India Association celebrated Diwali with a bang last weekend with a cultural show and a delicious diwali dinner. The emcees for the program were Rakashi Chand and Amit Dang.

The cultural show included a Bhajan Medley (Kumkum Dilwali, Mool Raj Mathur, Swati Mathur, Maneesh Anand, Sonam, Kapil and Pradeep Dilwali, Sasha, Rohan, Lekha, Ankit); Bharatanatyan dance by Nivedha Kumar, Devi Patel, Sharayu Mahale, Sushmita Mukherjee, Sweta Nanavati and Priya Vijey; dances by Juhi and Neha Narula, Suhani & Shriya Rathi, Megha Aggarwal, Arushi Ray, Sunita Malhotra, Karishma Manglani and Isha Mehta, Monali Gidwani, Mahek Shah, Aditi Sinha and Natasha Khetarpal; a classical dance by Anumita Das, Dipal Nagda & Vinita Singh; a Punjabi group dance by Payal and Preeti Sharma; bhangra fusion by Devika Dhawan, Devam Dhawan, Sujata Datta, Neha Grewal, Akshay Grewal, Prashasti Upadhyay,  Prakirn Upadhyay, Malvika Arya, and Ananya SenGupta; and songs by Boston University students Saisangeeth Daswani, Alia Dalal, Surya Sivaram, Ritu, Manek, Chandni Punia, Tamanna Singh, Pallavi Joshi, Deepika Makkar, Vibha Murthi and Bhavna Pathak.

In addition, bhajans by SANGEETAYAN: Abhinav Mishra, Anisha Karim, Rajyalaxmi Pyda, Debapriya, M. Sagar, Hriday Singh, Priyanka Javlekar, Raashika Goyal, Rohan Singh, Saraf Rahman, Swati Sharma, Sreyashi Kanjilal, and Shouvik Barari with Debayan Kanjilal on Tabla and Sagarika Kanjilal as conductor along with the Lexington bhangra consisting of Kapil Dilwali, Sagar Dilwali, Herman Luther, Swami Saxena, & Kush Sharma kept the audience wanting for more.

The awards were presented by Eileen Mehta, Rekha Palriwala & Shalini Shahani.
