Mass High Tech, The Journal of New England Technology, has named TiE-Boston President Vinit Nijhawan to its list of 2005 All-Stars. Now in its 10th annual awards program, the Mass High Tech All-Stars award recognizes the region’s leaders in New England’s innovation economy.

Nijhawan was one of more than 200 people nominated for consideration, and selected as the top candidate in the Community sector.

 â€œTiE-Boston has brought thousands of entrepreneurs from throughout the eastern seaboard of North America together with representatives of successful companies and venture capital firms, helping them build relationships that contribute to their mutual success,” said Nijhawan. “I am honored to accept this award on behalf of TiE-Boston, an organization that fosters an innovative, entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Northeast and— through TiE-Global’s more than 10,000 members in nine countries—throughout the world.”

“This year’s All-Stars show once again that Massachusetts and the surrounding region is home to not only the nation’s, but the world’s, brightest minds in technology and innovation today,” said Douglas Banks, editor of Mass High Tech. “This year’s pool of nominations was one of the strongest in the history of the project.”

The honorees will be profiled in a special supplement in the October 24, 2005 edition of Mass High Tech. An awards celebration and networking reception was held on October 19, 2005 at The Westin Copley Place, Boston.

“Collectively, our honorees are a prime example of the vibrancy of New England’s knowledge economy,” said Michael Olivieri, Publisher of Mass High Tech. “And the All-Star awards are Mass High Tech’s way of honoring that.”
