Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's husband Sanjay Kapur moved an application before the Delhi High Court seeking to implead their five-month-old daughter Samaira as a co-petitioner and appoint him as next friend of the minor for court proceedings. In his application filed through counsel Manisha Singhal, Sanjay said he was the natural guardian of Samaira. According to him, he visited the metropolis just to meet his wife and daughter. Through their marriage, he claimed to have taken care of Karisma’s expenses, including credit card payments, telephone bills, travel expenses within India and abroad, restaurant and night club bills.  Sunjay also claims to have paid film producers whom Karisma owed money. He said if Karisma continues to have a grievance with regard to lack of financial contribution on his part, he was willing to reimburse the expenses she incured on their daughter.

Aishwarya Rai may be 'Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi'. That is the dream of director Ketan Mehta. His earlier famous release 'Mangal Panday: The Rising'  has grossed  more than 18 crore in first week inspite the controversy about distorted historical facts. Another film on Ketan's mind is 'Bahadur Shah Zafar'.  And guess who Ketan wants to be Bahadur Shah. You got it right. It is Amitabh Bachchan.  Historical Fact: After 'Pakeezah', Kamal Amrohi had thougt of making 'Akhari Mughal' with Amitabh.

Sarabjit Singh who is facing charges of espionage in Pakistan was hoping for clemency as a peace dividend from improving relations between the historically bitter rivals. Shah Rukh Khan and other actors have also thrown their weight behind the campaign to save Singh. "He has already served 15 years in prison and purely on humanitarian grounds we appeal for his release," said Khan, whose recent blockbuster film Veer-Zaara centres around an Indian who spent years in Pakistani prisons on trumped-up espionage charges. PM Manmohan Singh has assured Singh's relatives that he would himself speak to Musharraf and seek his intervention in the matter.

The exhibitors of Bipasha Basu's much-awaited film "No Entry" may probably be in for a last-minute disappointment if the release of the film is rescheduled to a later date due to bickering financiers filing last minute claims. Anxious exhibitors, who went ahead and announced the Aug 26 release of the film, are awaiting confirmation before they can open the advance booking for the film, which normally starts Monday.

Mallika Sherawat signs a clean romantic commedy 'Pyaar ka Side Effect'.   It's not overtly sexual or with sexual undertones.  But people, who love to see Mallika's on screen skin show will be disappointed. Rahul Bose will be playing Mallika's love interest. The film is directed by debutant Saket Choudhary and will shot entirely in Mumbai.
